CastawayShort Story The author of this upsetting little tale is an officer in the British merchant marine (which is why his maritime detail is so real) and a writer of first-rate science fiction. Occasionally, when he turns to sinister fantasy of this sort, he uses the pseudonym of "George Whitley" which is the name under which "Castaway" was originally published.
